UK Jewish Community Shifting Towards Greens and Reform Party as Backing for Major Parties Drops

Research has uncovered a emerging political divide across British Jews, with backing growing quickly for the Greens – driven by youthful and “anti-Zionist” Jews – while older Orthodox men favor the Reform Party as trust in the leading parties “drops sharply”.

Support for the Conservative and Labour parties among the Jewish community in Britain had fallen to 58% by mid-2025 from around 84% in 2020, based on a analysis from a prominent demographic center, which commented it was “the weakest support we’ve observed by a wide gap”.

The study group, which follows population shifts, surveyed 11,000 Jewish residents of Britain for the study, named The decline of dual-party dominance? Recent shifts in the electoral choices of UK Jewish voters.

It found that in the previous year, Jewish electors were more inclined than the general population to vote for the two main parties, with 44% favoring Labour, versus 34% of the general public, and 32% backing the Conservative Party, versus 24% of the wider electorate.

By mid-year, approval of Labour had declined by 13% among the Jewish community, versus a 9% decrease with the wider electorate, while Conservative support among the Jewish community declined by 4%, paralleling the wider electorate. “Small and consistent” support for the Liberal Democrats has shifted from 8% to 9% among the Jewish community.
