Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane carrying Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the jet's front window, per an announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The jet touched down in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, such as Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative stated in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This event does not mark the first time that a US military aircraft ferrying a senior official has suffered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to return to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical fault.
