David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.
Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving young women.
The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
He has published in excess of 40 works combined, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
