Dallas Cowboys Player Kneeland Passes Away at Age 24
He was the 56th selection in the 2024 draft
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Marshawn Kneeland has passed away aged 24.
The Cowboys selected the Cowboys in the second round in the 2024 NFL Draft and played 18 times for the team, including four starts.
He recorded his initial touchdown in Tuesday's defeat to the Arizona Cardinals when he retrieved a blocked punt.
"Marshawn was a beloved teammate and part of our family," the Dallas Cowboys stated.
"Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his loved ones."
Kneeland was picked by the Cowboys with the 56th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft after playing college football for Western Michigan University.
His agent, Jonathan Perzley, said his "heart breaks" for the loss of the athlete who "gave his all" into each opportunity.
"I saw him strive his way from a aspiring young man at Western Michigan with a goal to being a esteemed pro for the Dallas Cowboys," Perzley commented.
The NFL said it is "profoundly grieved" by the tragic event.
